Community Service - Paying back the Community

Pathways Through Learning

CJA Finance

Lothian and Borders annual accounts will be published each year after they have been audited and approved by the Scottish Government. Lothian and Borders undergoes an external audit each year by the Scottish Government appointed auditor, who is currently Audit Scotland. Opportunity for Change - An alternative to custody

Launched on 1st October 2008, this new pilot service was available across Lothian and Borders for young people aged 16-18, appearing before the Sheriff Court. A total of 30 young people have been involved in the pilot programme and an evaluation of the pilot is being carried out (due to complete early 2010). Community Justice Authority Legislation

The Community Justice Authorities were formed by an Act of Parliament in 2005 and their strategy was laid out in the National Strategy for the Management of Offenders document produced in 2006.
